Refocus Terms of Use

By using Refocus, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. The service
Refocus is a personal attention-support tool. It uses Apple Screen Time capabilities to pause you before opening selected apps (e.g. breathing or intention prompts) and shows on-device stats. Features depend on system APIs and your permissions and may vary by iOS version.
2. License and restrictions
Subject to these Terms, you receive a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on devices you lawfully control.
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, crack, or tamper with the App or Screen Time protections except where mandatory law allows
- Use the App for illegal, harassing, or infringing purposes
- Misrepresent the App as a company product or medical service
3. Not medical advice
The App provides lifestyle / habit guidance only. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace professional medical or mental-health care. Seek qualified help for health concerns.
4. Purchases and subscriptions
Refocus offers optional Refocus Pro auto-renewable subscriptions via the Apple App Store:

- Free: up to 2 guarded apps
- Pro: unlimited guarded apps
- Billed by Apple; manage renewal/cancellation in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation; the subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period; you may cancel anytime and keep access until the period ends
- Restore: use Restore purchases on the in-app Membership page
- Refunds follow Apple’s rules
Availability of products by country/region follows App Store Connect configuration.
5. Your content and local data
You are responsible for intention text, custom reminder copy, nicknames, and similar input. Do not submit illegal or infringing content. Stats and settings are mainly on-device; uninstalling may erase them permanently.
6. Third parties and system services
The App relies on Apple Family Controls / Screen Time and may include Firebase, Umeng, or similar SDKs. Their terms and privacy policies apply separately. The developer does not warrant uninterrupted third-party or system services.
7. Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, error-free performance, fitness for a particular purpose, or that shields/timers will work in every system state.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant paid feature (or zero if free).
9. Termination
You may stop using and uninstall the App at any time. The developer may stop providing the service if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by nature should survive (including §§3, 7, 8, 10) survive termination.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections where you live. Disputes should first be negotiated in good faith; failing that, courts with jurisdiction at the developer’s domicile may hear the case, unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

We may update these Terms. Continued use after updates means acceptance. Material changes will be reflected by the effective date and/or in-app notice when practical.
